German Dusha signs curating “Effort-Performance”

On February 2, at 19h, the Athena Contemporary opens its first exhibition in 2016. Curated by Germano Dusha, collective “Effort-Performance” presents a selection of works by artists represented by the gallery and guests.

Participants: Rafael RG (winner of the first edition of the FOCUS Bradesco ArtRio, held in 2013), Anton Steenbock, Daniel Albuquerque, Daniel de Paula, Deborah Bolsoni, Deyson Gilbert, Janaina Wagner, Laura Belém, Marina Rheingantz, Matheus Rocha Pitta, Renata de Bonis and Traplev.

According to Germano Dusha, a turning year marked by the accumulation dragged complex social tensions, the show “Effort-Performance” gathers gestures that suggest an expectation of relegation atmosphere. As a kind of counterpoint to the common euphoria to political speeches guided by promises of economic growth, large buildings and mega events, space opens for noncompliance exercises. You can then realize the power inscribed in thoughts and sensations that operate cracks in the consensus sewn by social imaginary “country of the future”.

The exhibition runs until March 05. The visiting hours are Monday through Friday, from 11 to 19 hours and on Saturdays from 12 to 18h. The Athena Contemporary Gallery is at Shopping Cassino Atlântico (Atlantic Av 4240), sobrelojas 210 | 211 – Copacabana. Free entrance. More information on the site www.athenacontemporanea.com .
